Enschede Lights Up – Open Call

For the 5th edition of Enschede Lights Up, we are looking for innovative and inspiring light art installations. From 10 to 13 December 2026, the city centre of Enschede will be transformed into a dynamic stage for light-based art. Whether you're an individual artist of part of a collective, you're invited to submit your work - from mappings and projections to immersive light installations. You can propose concepts designed for specific spots in Enschede or submit ideas that work independently of location. Check out the venue options below.

The open call starts on March 1 and ends on May 1, 2026

Required Criteria

• A clear connection and engagement with light
• Suitable for a broad audience – inclusivity and accessibility for all ages are key values
• Suitable for outdoor use (if the location is outdoors)
• Stable and safe, even in high wind conditions (if the location is outdoors)
• Technically feasible within the city’s infrastructure and production planning – setup must be possible within 1–3 days

Nice-to-Have Criteria

• Sustainable light art
• Interactive elements or installations
